Geared to adults, the Parry Sound Tracking Club invites you to join us as we step off the beaten path and into the quiet, watchful world of tracking. A tracking club is more than just a group—it’s a shared curiosity about the stories written on the land. Together, we learn to notice what most people pass by: the faint imprint of a hoof in soft earth, disturbed leaves, scratches on bark, a tuft of fur, or a nest . These are all clues that reveal who has come before us.
Every walk becomes an exploration. We move slowly, deliberately, tuning our senses to the landscape. Members of all experience levels come together to practice skills like identifying animal tracks, interpreting movement patterns, and understanding the ecosystems around us. It’s part science, part art, and part quiet meditation.
Join us as we sharpen our awareness, expand our knowledge, and rediscover the wild stories unfolding beneath our feet.
There’s a strong sense of community, too. We share discoveries, trade insights, and celebrate those small “aha” moments when a mystery suddenly makes sense. Whether we’re following fresh tracks in the snow or studying older signs along a forest trail, each outing brings new lessons and a deeper connection to nature.
Is tracking club for you?
You need to be curious and want to grow your naturalist skills.
You need to be able to walk over uneven ground for 3-4 hours. Expect a very slow pace with lots of standing still, sometimes kneeling and pausing often to look closely at the ground.
Register today to join the Parry Sound Tracking Club and to receive meeting location updates and reminders.
The $25 Yearly Membership pays for admin costs and helps support Parry Sound Forest School.
