Forest Friends After School Care

Spend time in the forest, EVERY day!

Forest Friends offers your child after school care in the outdoors. Wood working, nature art, hiking, flashlight tag, campfires, knot tying, snowshoeing, sliding and so much more await under the supervision of qualified educators who love nature almost as much as the kids!!

Additional Information:

  • Program runs from 3:15-6:00pm

  • Snacks are the responsibility of the parent

  • Bussing arrangements must be made by the parent through the transportation service prior to your child’s start date. Part-time participants may not qualify for bussing.

  • Registration required, space for 22 children/day at our Canadore location, 16 at our Kinsmen Park location

  • $20/day

  • Parents are invoiced monthly, at the start of every month

  • Subsidy is available through DSSAB for qualifying families.

    • If you are applying for a subsidy, please reach out to admin@psforestschool.com and advise that a subsidy contract is underway, the names and ages of your child(ren), which school they attend, and which days of the week they require care.

  • Important note: no after school care is offered on school holidays, including PD Days, Winter Break & March Break, following the Near North District School Board Calendar.

  • Please note in the event of a bus cancellation: both after school programs will meet at Canadore College. It is the responsibility of the caregiver to get their children to program if they will be attending on bus cancellation days.

To apply for subsidy, please follow the steps on DSSAB’s Application Portal through the link below and then email our team, admin@psforestschool.com, to let them know that a DSSAB contract is on its way.
